周六（8月28日）深夜，澳大利亞悉尼西部一家COVID-19檢測診所遭到破壞，警方呼籲民眾提供線索。
新州警方在周日（8月29日）發布的一份聲明中指出，緊急服務部門周六晚上10時50分接到報告稱，North St Marys區Forrester路的Laverty Pathology診所發生火災。Nepean警區的警察抵達現場後發現一棟可拆卸的建築陷入火海，新州消防救援局（Fire and Rescue NSW）已經將大火撲滅。
警方在對周圍地區進行搜查後，在另外一棟建築上發現了塗鴉。警方已經建立犯罪現場。
據澳洲人報報道，法醫調查員周日正在搜查被燒毀的小型可拆卸建築，該建築緊挨着免下車Covid-19檢測診所。在停車場的對面，一棟建築上被噴上了有關疫情的塗鴉標語，上面寫道：「COVID-19是一個謊言，人們現在醒來。與制度抗爭。」同時還罵防疫制度和新州州長Gladys Berejiklian。
Nepean警區偵緝警司Jason Pietruszka表示，這些信息是「荒謬的」。Pietruszka說，「現場的警察注意到反政府和反COVID-19言論被噴在同一檢測診所的不同建築物上。說實話，這種行為是相當可笑的，也是相當沒有意義的。人們有權發表自己的意見，但這個人的所作所為是犯罪行為，這顯然也對依賴這個檢測診所的社區造成了極大的損害。」

Pietruszka證實，被燒毀的可拆卸建築並不包含進行COVID-19檢測所需的材料。
儘管警察和調查人員仍在現場，但該診所仍在正常提供檢測服務。目前尚未確定起火原因，但警方將此事件列為可疑案件，並正在進行調查，同時試圖將此案件提交給法院。
