Waymo无人出租车在美国凤凰城向公众开放

在美国凤凰城市中心，Waymo向所有公众开放了其无人驾驶的出租车服务，这是该技术在一个大城市的重大扩展。

据《每日邮报》报导，这是在Waymo从加州机动车管理局获得无人驾驶部署许可的第二天发布的，该许可允许Waymo在旧金山对送货等自主服务收费，这是向在金州（Golden State）全面部署自动驾驶出租车迈出的一步。

该公司是谷歌母公司Alphabet的子公司，此前在凤凰城市中心只为其“受信任测试者”，提供自动驾驶服务。

“受信任测试者”被禁止在社交媒体上或与记者分享他们的经验，并必须签署保密协议。

Waymo在凤凰城市中心提供的服务，将允许任何下载该应用程序，并在Waymo的服务区叫车，只要为“仅有乘客”的体验付费，即可乘坐该公司捷豹I-Pace电动车。

据TechCrunch报导，本月早些时候，Waymo还推出了从凤凰城市中心到机场的乘车服务，但前座有司机。

该公司的车队目前有700多辆车，其中包括捷豹I-Pace电动车和克莱斯勒Pacifica混合动力车，以及8级卡车的组合。

这些车辆大多位于亚利桑那州、加利福尼亚州和德克萨斯州，并用于测试和商业运营。

然而，在该技术被广泛发布并被公众接受之前，该公司仍有一些障碍需要克服。

例如，Waymo仍然需要从加州公用事业委员会获得无人驾驶许可，然后才能在该州开始向客户收取乘坐其无人驾驶车辆的费用。

据统计，自2020年10月以来，该自动服务已经行驶了超过50万英里里程，并以“仅有乘客”模式完成了数万次旅行。

根据NHTSA的数据，Alphabet的自动驾驶汽车部门Waymo，在去年有62起车祸报告，而通用汽车的Cruise，在旧金山用作自动驾驶出租车，有23起车祸。

车祸中，马斯克的特斯拉汽车占大多数，达到70%，但在目前美国道路上的所有自动驾驶或辅助驾驶车辆中，特斯拉汽车的市场份额更大。
