据中新网报导，内蒙古包头市卫健委网站8月6日发布“关于发布达茂旗鼠疫疫情三级预警的通告”，指8月2日包头市接到报告，达茂旗石宝镇温都不令村委苏吉新村发生一例死亡病例，判定患者为肠型鼠疫，死亡原因为循环系统衰竭。
这份通告同步发布鼠疫防控三级预警资讯，预警时间从86日持续到2020年底。中国的人间鼠疫疫情一共分四级，最高是一级，代表“特别重大”，三级则是“较大”。
通告指出，已对此死亡病例的9名密切接触者、26名密切接触者的接触人员集中隔离医学观察，目前他们无发热等异常，鼠疫核酸PCR检测结果均为阴性。
死者居住地苏吉新村已实行封锁隔离，对死者住所及其周边农户居住场所每天进行全面消毒，并在苏吉新村及周边开展灭蚤灭鼠、环境卫生清洁整治。
