Meanwhile, according to Pakistani media reports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi warned hours earlier that 「any attempt to impose governor』s rule, declare a state of emergency, or undermine the public mandate of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government」 would trigger a strong public response.
He added that if such a move were made, 「people [protesters] would head to Peshawar instead of Swabi.」

The Federal Government, in exercise of the powers conferred under Article 245 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, authorise the deployment of Pakistan Army troops/assets in aid of civil power for safety of life, security of person and property of citizens as well as security of government installations in the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the duration of the Proclamation dated 11* October, 2026 issued under Articles 232 and 234.
The Governor, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in consultation with the Military Operations Directorate, GHQ, shall determine the number of troops/assets necessary for the purpose.
