BREAKING:
It turns out that the Omani co-pilot was already a radicalized Islamist when he studied in Australia in 2015-2017 and that Australian intelligence agencies kept a file on him.
Australian counterterrorism authorities are now investigating Hamam al-Hammami, who tried to crash a Tel Aviv-bound flight, amid reports that he visited radical mosques and radical Islamist websites while studying in Melbourne.
Two sources briefed on the investigation said al-Hammami previously studied at a university in Melbourne.
Local reports identify it as RMIT University.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has explicitly linked the attack to Islamist radicalization, saying al-Hammami had undergone “Islamist radical indoctrination” and that investigators had uncovered information pointing to Islamist tendencies.
On the other hand, mainstream media outlets in the West labeled the radical Islamist terror attack as a “scuffle” or
“spat” between the Captain and the co-pilot.Western states keep downplaying the threat of Islamism as the authorities in Europe don』t want to deal with the huge problem of hate preachers who radicalize young men in their mosques.
