据《信使邮报》报道，新型摄像头安装在学区限速标志上，外框为明亮的橘色，这些摄像头还将在全州高风险学区内定期移动。
统计数据显示，在过去四年中，有超过5万名司机在学区内超速行驶。
交通厅长Mark Bailey表示，摄像头的安装地点是根据风险选择的，以保护“不可预测的、脆弱的”儿童、父母、教师和工作人员的安全。
Bailey说，这些摄像头只会在学区时间运行，通常是工作日的早上7时至9时和下午2时至4时。
“罚款将是巨额的、痛苦的，是违规者应得的。”Bailey说，“我不想看到某人的孩子仅仅因为超速驾驶者的鲁莽行为在上学途中受重伤或丧生。 ”
教育厅长Grace Grace表示，在试点计划期间，摄像头将在全州范围内的高风险学区轮换。

昆州皇家汽车俱乐部（RACQ）的Joshua Cooney表示，该机构担心太多的司机轻视了学区限速。
